From a very young age, most people dream about building their castle, their palace, their chalet or their "crib". They fantasize about a home that will uniquely fit them and welcome their guests. Sometimes the vision is practical and serves basic functions. Others envision a work of art that inspires or energizes its occupants. In most cases, a combination of both distinctive form and determined function is the goal. Without exception, everyone seeks a positive planning/building experience and a home that "feels good" when it’s complete.
Unfortunately, most who have reached the point of being able to embark on this journey, have an overall poor experience. Somewhere along the way, their lifetime dream turned into a nightmare. It may be wrought with poor design, random applications, inadequate assemblies, inefficient or malfunctioning systems, or a combination thereof. Couple that with an irresponsible or inefficient process rendering costly mistakes and lengthy delays, you have the formula for great frustration and energy draining conflict. Residing in a house stained with bad memories is never good.
